9/11 Performance

Using the students' 9/11 performance as a backdrop, we discussed the 9/11 tragedy in our Morning Message.

First, there's the issue of making positive choices, even in difficult circumstances. Many acts of heroism took place that fateful day despite significant risk to those involved.

Then there's the issue of understanding evil in the world. Why we won't ever fully answer that question, looking for a silver lining is crucial. Out of the ashes emerged a more united nation, transcending race, gender and class. That spirit of American unity helped the country heal, and, ultimately, find common ground, if only for a short while.
