Using sound and the writtten word, we practiced the art of hospitality much like Avraham did in this week's parsha.
First, we listened to an audio clip of a story about performing the mitzvah of hachnasat orchim (welcoming guests) and drew comparisions between the story's protaganist and Avraham.
Next, students wrote the ending to a story about a 4th grader who moves to a new town. These creative writing exercises will be posted outside our classroom for you to enjoy.
Finally, we split into two groups - "host" and "guest" - and brainstormed about the obligations incumbent upon host and guest in the mitzvah of hachnasat orchim.
