New information about Chanukah

Today, we continued to examine issues related to the mitzvah of lighting the menorah:

• The mitzvah is fulfilled at the moment one lights the candles (hadlakah oseh mitzvah). As such, the placement of the menorah and the amount of oil used must meet the halachic standards at the moment of lighting.

Students measured targets around the classroom to determine whether they would serve as an ideal location for lighting the menorah.

Students also learned how to convert inches to tefachim, the unit in which halachic considerations of height are based.
