Students looked at several pesukim today from Rashi's perspective as they practiced their newly-acquired "Rashi" reading skills and refined their understanding of the peshat (simple rendering) of the narrative.
Students are beginning to understand Rashi's dual roles as a commentator, both as a mefaresh (explicator) and mechadesh (innovator). This duality will be reinforced in a unit called The Two Sides of Rashi. Look for it next week.
