Students are applying more thought and analysis in their Chumash studies: deriving meaning from "context clues," making predictions, and comparing their predictions to the commentaries of Rashi and other meforshim.
This week, we looked at the issue of free will. Hashem strips away Pharoh's ability to choose the 'right thing,' and then punishes him. Virtually every commentator struggles with the apparent problem of how a just God could apparently act unfairly. We looked at two commentaries for answers; ask your child about them!
