We'll use the model of literature circles to explore Parshat Lech Lecha. In literature circles, a block of information (in our case, the parsha) is divided into segments (snapshots of the narrative) and teams of students prepare one part of the big picture and then share with the class. The TAL AM books we use for parsha lend themselves particularly well to this; they present six "snapshot" views of the parsha plot.
The model allows for collaborative, team-based learning and transfers responsbility to each student in the group, as each one has a role to play: reader, translator, and presenter.
